Bryan Dunn
Folk Rock/Acoustic/Indie
After starting out in Austin in a popular
folk pop band, Bryan Dunn moved to New York and formed a
rock band called Simple Thing that almost went somewhere but
didn't. He then spent some time playing sideman for a couple
of other local folks while working on his first solo CD,
"Static & Scripture". Last year he finished second out of
500 or so songwriters in the Williamsburg Live Songwriter
Competition with one of the songs from that record, released
an EP which sold out its limited run, and became a minor
celebrity in Delaware. He's just finished recording some new
songs and will hopefully release a new CD before the end of
the year. |

Maria Neckam
with:
John Escreet - piano
Zack Lober - bass
Paul Wiltgen - drums
Maria's voice is one of those you either love or hate, and
so is her music. Uncompromising in her musical approach as
well as performance she hits truth right at it's core and
strikes a chord in you ... Her clear, airy sound has been
compared to that of angels as well as wind instruments, the
latter referring to her use of it as well - Maria sings like
an instrumentalist plays. This is also reflected in her use
of lyrics, as she states her point in an abstract way,
making space for everyone's own story in hers. Her
compositions are as diverse as life's surprises, merging
modern Jazz with Drum N'Bass and Rock grooves as well as
Indian and Classical music. You can hear Stravinsky as well
as Björk in it, Billie Holiday and Debussy, Nikhil Banerjee
and Ani DiFranco, … but most of all, Maria Neckam. |

Chris Arnott
Rock / Folk / Experimental
Originally from Sydney's
Northern Beaches, Chris Arnott continues to develop a
growing following through his intimate solo shows around
Australia and the world. Melding an ethereal electric guitar
with raw vocal ability that draws fitting comparisons to
Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake and 90s Seattle, his carefully
crafted songs play on themes of love, life and loss with
insightful lyrics and catchy melodies. Although Chris' solo
work represents a new beginning for the 25-year old
songwriter, he is no stranger to the live circuit, having
played for years in many bands and having recorded his first
commercial release when he just 15. The move towards a more
thought-provoking, introspective style of music is an
evolutionary step Chris felt was necessary to connect on a
deeper level with his audience, while allowing him to
explore more of his own influences. Chris is in New York to
write his next album, due for release early 2008. |

Fellaheen
Indie/Alternative/Experimental
A mélange of alternative
rocknroll, scratchy blues, junkyard noise, downbeat
jazz, and murky existential wit that betrays a secret
pop heart. Slightly off-kilter original songs about
dogs, particle physics, shady characters, luvnhate, and
works of art in the age of mechanical reproduction.

Thomas Channell
New
York-based singer-songwriter Thomas Channell was born in
Sydney, Australia, but grew up in Stellenbosch, South
Africa. Somewhat of a nerd, he has a Bachelor of Music
Honours degree from Stellenbosch University and an MA
from Columbia University, where he studied on a
Fulbright Fellowship. So like, what kind of like music
do you play? Just imagine Sade and Kurt Vonnegut's
lovechild was adopted by Rufus Wainwright and k.d. lang,
with Herbert von Karajan as his Godfather. Differently
put: It's sincere, timeless, music from the soul baby,
mellow, inspiring, thought-provoking, words that read
like a novel, bitter sweet lyrics...Nuf said. Thomas has
performed at all the major arts festivals in South
Africa, as well as venues in Berlin, New York and Mexico
City. His first album "Crowded Sunrise" was released to
critical acclaim in South Africa in 2004 and he has been
building up a kick-ass following in New York, regularly
playing at venues including the legendary CBGB's,
Cornelia Street Café, The Knitting Factory, Lincoln
Center, The Living Room, Mo Pitkin's House of
Satisfaction, The King Kong Room (@The Supper Club), and
R&R Bar. Thomas is considered part of the furniture at
Caffe Vivaldi.
